Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry
On February 21, Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry at the initiative of the Egyptian side.
The focus was on the situation in Libya and the progress of inter-Libyan talks under the auspices of the UN aimed at stopping the conflict in the country. Mr Lavrov and Mr Shoukry stressed the need for active consolidated actions of the entire international community in the interests of a determined fight against terror in all of its manifestations.
The Ministers confirmed the mutual commitment of Moscow and Cairo to continued Russian-Egyptian close interaction on current regional issues.
