Planted stories about the vote in the Russian presidential election outside of the Russian Federation
Social media, including Telegram channels, are filled with fakes about the vote in the Russian presidential election organised in foreign countries.
The technology of planting these stories is simple and even primitive: numerous photographs and videos of Russians lining up to cast their ballots at one of the polling stations set up by Russian diplomatic missions abroad are misrepresented as images of protests. However, the creators of these fake stories forgot to ask the voters themselves. Let’s listen to our compatriots commenting on these provocations – “without translators” – as they wait in line to vote in Madrid, Yerevan and Athens.
We would like to direct those are interested to the Foreign Ministry’s official social media accounts, where they will find objective and accurate information about the voting process in the Russian presidential election abroad. Specifically, the ministry’s Telegram channel operates in real time 24/7 and provides materials from the Russian diplomatic missions abroad.
