Consul General of Russia in Kolkata Alexey Idamkin takes part in a release and discussion on a book by Prof. Achala Moulik

On December 8, 2022, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata Mr.Alexey Idamkin participated in the Kolkata release and a panel discussion on the book “Commemorating India-Russia Friendship: Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation of 1971” by Prof. Achala Moulik organized at the Russian House (Gorky Sadan).

Eminent scholars of Russian-Indian relations Dr. Ramkumar Mukhopadhyay, Prof. Anjan Bera, Dr. Pallab Sengupta, Debasmita Moulick, and Abhinav Banerjee also took part in the debate.

It was emphasized that this milestone Treaty was a reflection of the close friendship and equal partnership between the two countries with its core principles of trust and respect, peaceful and mutually beneficial cooperation, international coordination as well as non-participation in any activities against each other. All speakers agreed that these principles remain highly relevant today.
