Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin’s meeting with Chair of the Finnish Parliament’s Defence Committee Ilkka Kanerva
On June 4, State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin received Chair of the Finnish Parliament’s Defence Committee Ilkka Kanerva at his request. Mr Kanerva was in Moscow as a representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly at the Development of Parliamentarism International Forum.
During the conversation, the officials paid special attention to the developments in Ukraine. They noted there is no alternative to the implementation of the Minsk agreements in achieving a settlement in south-east of Ukraine.
The officials also discussed the independent role that active Russian-Finnish relations play in European stability.
