Statement by Russian MFA Spokesman Andrei Nesterenko on Kabul Bomb Attack
Russia, like the rest of the world, is outraged by another bloody terrorist crime in Kabul. It was perpetrated at the walls of the Indian embassy, and has claimed the lives of several dozen civilian residents of the Afghan capital. Indian diplomats and other embassy workers were among those killed. More than 100 people received wounds, including those at the nearby Indonesian embassy.
Such is the outcome of the criminal action, aimed to intimidate the people, the Government of Afghanistan and the international community waging the struggle against power-hungry extremists.
We resolutely condemn the man-hating acts of terrorists and believe that they will be given a fitting rebuff.
We sincerely condole with the families of victims and sympathize with those injured as a result of this anti-human act.
We deeply mourn the deaths of our colleagues – Indian diplomats.
