Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Foreign Secretary of Mexico Luis Videgaray Caso

On September 22, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Luis Videgaray Caso on the sidelines of the 72^nd UN General Assembly session in New York.

Following up on the agreements reached during President Vladimir Putin’s conversation with President of the United Mexican States Enrique Pena Nieto on the sidelines of the BRICS summit on September 5, the officials discussed topical issues of Russian-Mexican relations, including the efforts to deepen bilateral political dialogue, develop trade, economic and cultural cooperation and upgrade the contractual foundation.

Mr Lavrov and Mr Videgaray Caso exchanged views on a number of key international and regional issues and discussed ways of expanding bilateral cooperation.
