Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
On July 6, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Director-General of the World Trade Organisation Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro.
They reaffirmed the need for prompt reform of the WTO based on inclusiveness, non-discrimination, transparency and mutual respect.
The parties exchanged views on several aspects of Russia’s interaction with the WTO Secretariat.
