Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to RT question about a WSJ publication on possible participation of British citizens in terrorist attacks on Russia
Question: What can the Foreign Ministry say regarding a Wall Street Journal publication alleging that British citizens might have taken part in terrorist attacks on Russia? What will the consequences of this hostile behaviour be if this information is confirmed? Could this lead to the termination of diplomatic relations?
Maria Zakharova: We are aware of London’s consistent miliary assistance to the neo-Nazi Kiev regime. It includes the supply of weapons made in the UK and other countries, participation in the so-called replacement schemes that allow Western allies to continue sending available weapons to Ukraine, the training of officers and privates in Britain, other European countries and Ukraine, the provision of various intelligence information, full consulting support, suspected participation in the operational and tactical planning of military, including subversive, operations, direct cyber protection, and the dispatch of mercenaries.
It cannot be ruled out that British specialists took part in planning, organising, supporting and supplying intelligence for the Kiev regime’s terrorist attacks in Russia. I would like to remind you that following a Defence Ministry statement on the involvement of British security services in the October 29, 2022 terrorist attack on Russian Black Sea Fleet vessels in Sevastopol, the Foreign Ministry summoned UK Ambassador Deborah Bronnert on November 3, 2022. She was handed a note of protest over the British military specialists’ involvement in training and providing supplies to Ukraine’s special operations forces, including with the purpose of subversive naval operations. She was provided with evidence of these activities and the names of British accomplices of that terrorist attack.
We have no doubt that the concerned Russian authorities have full information regarding this.
We have pointed out on numerous occasions that Russia reserves the right to take appropriate response measures whenever and wherever it deems necessary. Full responsibility for the consequences of London’s destructive actions lies with those who orchestrated and executed these reckless actions.
As for the possible termination of diplomatic relations, it is obviously the last resort, but it cannot be ruled out in the current environment.
