Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov Meets with FRG Vice Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier

On March 31, a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Vice Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier took place in The Hague on the sidelines of the International Conference on Afghanistan.

The main attention was paid to practical issues in Russia-Germany cooperation on pressing international problems. In discussing the tasks in assisting the stabilization and reconstruction of Afghanistan, the significance was noted of the Special Conference under the aegis of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Moscow on March 27.

Certain aspects of Russian-German relations were touched upon, including the specification of a medium-term schedule of bilateral political contacts.
