Statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding another provocation of Ukraine against the territory of the Russian Federation

On the 12 July, at 3:00 AM in the Kuybyshevo area of the Rostov Region, a Russian border patrol unit, which was carrying out its duties to protect the state border of the Russian Federation in a service car, was subjected to shooting from automatic light weapons. As a result of these actions the body of the car, in which 8 bullet holes were found, was damaged. Luckily, no Russian border guard was hurt.

There is convincing proof that this shooting was carried out from Ukrainian territory and from a previously prepared position in the territory of the Russian Federation, which the attackers penetrated from the territory of Ukraine.

Russia sends another decisive protest to Ukraine and requests it to stop shooting at Russian territory and violating the Russian border immediately.

If such provocations continue, Russia reserves the right to undertake all the measures envisaged by Russian law to protect its territory and ensure the security of Russian nationals.
