Comments of the deputy director of the Department of information and press of the MFA of Russia M.V. Zakharova connected with the development of the situation in Syria

The bloody armed stand-off of the governmental forces and opposition militia is being continued in Syria.

The outskirts of the largest city of the country, its economic capital-Aleppo are at the centre of events. The unlawful armed groups, the leaders of which wanted, from all appeared, to make Aleppo, located at the close quarters from the Syrian-turkish boarder, their base, tried to invade the city. Thousands of people had to escape from the occupied quarters, leaving the properties. The range of the affluent tribal clans took weapon in order to protect themselves.

They are extremely worried in Moscow about such a dangerous development of the events, continuing with violence, induction of frames development and severity of the civil conflict. The sufferings of the peaceful Syrian population are increasing. The life of Aleppo is partially paralyzed.

In this situation we consider extremely important to make all possible in order to stop the bloodshed, deaths of innocent people. The efforts of international and Syrian humanitarian organizations, UN mission on the supervision in Syria are in demand, in order to ease partially and on a timely basis the afflictions of the residents of Aleppo, other cities and communities, which became the arena of the bitter confrontations.

The messages on the fact that the militia get such a serious types of armaments as handheld air-defense systems which may be applied and against the civil purposes arouse concernment. The replacement of video-materials in the internet with the shots of the group shooting by the militia the captured unarmed adherents of the president B.Asad, mockeries at the bodies of the killed in Aleppo policemen vividly demonstrate it. The performers of such brutalities are undoubtly out of law and are immoral.

We are to state again that the assistance and support provided by the armed opposition contradict the consensus resolutions of the UNSF within Syria and the plan of K.Annan, the core of which is the peace decision via negotiations and dialogue, not the encouragement of the bloody activity of the Syrian unlawful armed groups.
