Telephone Conversation of S.V. Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, with J. Sampaio, UN Secretary General's High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations

17 May, S.V. Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, had a telephone conversation with J. Sampaio, UN Secretary General's High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (AoC).

The High Representative told about the work of the Alliance in 2010-2011, shared his considerations regarding the results of the forth AoC Forum held in Doha (Qatar) in December 2011 as well as the Forum of AoC Partners to be held in Istanbul (Turkey) on 31 May – 1 June this year. J. Sampaio emphasized the important role of Russia as an active member of the Alliance.

S.V. Lavrov noted that the inter-civilization structure led by J. Sampaio is in demand as the largest multilateral site of such profile aimed to consolidate the efforts of all states of the world and the civil society on the way towards the development of mutual understanding between various cultures and civilizations.
