Press release on the meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Alexey Meshkov and OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović
On 5 December, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexey Meshkov met with OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Basel.
Issues related to ongoing and future cooperation between Russia and the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media were discussed.
The parties focused on the safety of journalists, especially in Ukraine, and the respect of OSCE member states for their commitments to protect and promote freedom of speech and expression.
The Russian side raised the issue of the unbridled propaganda campaign against Russia in the West.
