Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko Meets with Belgian Director General for Political Affairs Jean-Arthur Regibeau and Director General for Bilateral Affairs Geert Muylle

A regular round of Russian-Belgian political consultations took place at the Russian MFA on November 16, attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko and the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Director General for Political Affairs Jean-Arthur Regibeau and Director General for Bilateral Affairs Geert Muylle.

Questions of bilateral relations were discussed. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of Russian-Belgian contacts over the period since the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Belgium in December 2010, and noted the positive momentum in the commercial and economic field.

Of international themes they paid special attention to Russian relations with the EU and NATO and to the issues of the Middle East peace process and the situation in the Arab world.
