Detention of LifeNews journalists by Ukrainian authorities in Kramatorsk

PRESS RELEASE

With regard to the detention of LifeNews journalists by the Ukrainian authorities in Kramatorsk on the evening of the 18 May, Sergey Lavrov contacted the Current OSCE President, Swiss President Didier Burkhalter, and appealed to him to urgently use all the Organisation's opportunitiesto obtain the immediate release of the Russians. The OSCE President assured him that he would deal with this issue immediately.

The same steps were also taken with the leaders of the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna and the headquarters of the OSCE mission in Ukraine, in Kiev.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to attempt to resolve the situation surrounding the Russian journalists as soon as possible.
