Press release on changes to travel regulations for Russian citizens visiting Ukraine
The Foreign Ministry hereby notifies Russian citizens travelling to Ukraine that, starting March 1, 2015, those with only internal Russian passports will be unable to enter, exit, transit, stay and travel in Ukraine, as per a unilateral decision of the incumbent Ukrainian authorities. Moreover, Russian citizens can no longer use birth certificates as proof of citizenship for children under 14 to visit Ukraine.
Russian citizens entering, exiting, staying and travelling in Ukraine can have the following documents: a Russian travelling passport certifying that its holder is a Russian citizen staying abroad (a foreign travel passport), a diplomatic passport, a business passport, a sailors' passport, a certificate for entering (returning to) the Russian Federation (for returning to the Russian Federation only), or a flight certificate for aircraft crew members.
