Press release on the decision by the Albanian Council of Ministers to unilaterally abolish visas for Russian citizens

640-04-04-2018

At present, relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Albania are regulated by the April 7, 1993 Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Albania on Reciprocal Travel of Citizens, under which Russian citizens can enter Albania on the basis of a valid international travel passport and visa.

On March 21, 2018, the Albanian Council of Ministers adopted a decision to grant Russian citizens the right of visa-free entry to the country between April 1 and October 31, 2018. These rules will apply to Russian citizens who hold valid international travel passports and are visiting Albania as tourists or for private purposes for a period of up to 90 days.

The Foreign Ministry reminds Russian tourists of the need to have a medical insurance for the duration of their stay abroad.
