Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov’s meeting with Lebanese members of parliament Emile Rahme and Elwalid Succariyeh

On December 4, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Lebanese members of parliament Emile Rahme and Elwalid Succariyeh, who are in Moscow to take part in the international conference Parliamentarians Against Drugs.  

The officials had a frank exchange of opinions on the evolving internal situation in the Lebanese Republic, as well as on current issues of the Middle East agenda, with an emphasis on the aim of achieving a settlement in Syria as soon as possible.

The Russian party reaffirmed its invariable commitment to supporting the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability of multi-faith Lebanon, as well as the further progressive development of diverse Russian-Lebanese relations, including the pro-active political dialogue.
