Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during a meeting with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Yerevan, November 21, 2017
Mr Sargsyan,
Thank you very much for your welcome, for the opportunity to talk with you. First of all, let me pass on warm regards from President of Russia Vladimir Putin, with whom you recently opened the Days of Armenia in Russia and the Martiros Saryan exhibition.
Let me also say that today, together with Edward Nalbandian, aside from attending, along with you, the opening of the exhibition commemorating the 25th anniversary of our diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the Treaty on Friendship, Mutual Assistance and Cooperation, we held very substantive talks, spoke to the media, and surveyed all areas of our allied relations and our strategic partnership, which you have broadly mentioned. I will not repeat what has already been said as there is not a single area in which Russia and Armenia do not have a real, not formal, mechanism of practical cooperation. The fact that you praise our mutual cooperation in foreign policy matters is a great honour to us. We will try to justify your trust and the trust of the President of Russia.
