Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Haiti’s Foreign Minister Lener Renauld

On September 29, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Minister of Foreign Afffairs of the Republic of Haiti Lener Renauld on the sidelines of the 70^th UN General Assembly session in New York.

Mr Lavrov and Mr Renauld signed a treaty on the basic principles of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Haiti.

The ministers discussed the prospects for expanded bilateral Russia-Haiti ties and both countries’ cooperation at the UN.

Mr Renauld thanked the Russian side for its efforts, primarily those within the UN framework, to assist in stabilising the political and socioeconomic situation in Haiti.
