Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Syria's Tomorrow opposition movement leader Ahmad Jarba

On October 7, during a working visit to Baghdad, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Ahmad Jarba, leader of the Syria’s Tomorrow opposition movement.

Sergey Lavrov and Ahmad Jarba discussed the prospects for the development of the situation in and around Syria emphasising the need for sustainable efforts towards a political settlement in accordance with the decisions of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi and UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s unchanged position to support Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and efforts to eradicate international terrorism in that country.
