Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova's answer to a VGTRK TV question on alleged talks to transfer part of USSR territory to Finland

The question on territory is not an issue on the agenda of Russian-Finnish relations. The topic of revising the border following the results of World War II has never been discussed in a dialogue with our Finnish partners. The existing border between Russia and Finland is confirmed by current international legal acts and primarily by the Peace Treaty with Finland signed in Paris on February 10, 1947.

This is the common position of both the Russian and Finish sides, which has been repeatedly reasserted during negotiations including at the highest level. The absence of any dispute is supported by the fact that a protocol was signed by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Finland in Imatra, Finland, in 2017 which described the state border between Russia and Finland.
