Press release on the exchange of greetings between foreign ministers of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Guatemala on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala Pedro Brolo Vila exchanged messages of greetings on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Russian foreign minister noted that our countries established strong traditions of fruitful cooperation in a variety of areas and achieved meaningful results in developing political dialogue and interaction in the international arena, given the proximity of approaches in building a new polycentric world order based on the fundamental principles of international law. Sergey Lavrov underscored the Russian side’s focus on diversifying and expanding the Russian-Guatemalan economic and humanitarian partnership, strengthening ties between their regions and promoting more intensive contacts between universities, cultural and delegation exchanges.

The message from Pedro Brolo Vila expressed the readiness of the Guatemalan Government to continue the consistent efforts to develop bilateral cooperation and joint creation of new multifaceted opportunities for interaction between the two countries. The Guatemalan foreign minister stated his co mmitment to invigorating bilateral relations in a variety of areas for the benefit of wellbeing and prosperity of the two nations.
