Phone conversation between the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, and the French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius

On the 30 August, a phone conversation between the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, and French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, was held, during which they continued to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

They emphasised the need for a cease fire and to launch a political settlement process as soon as possible. In this context, the role of the forthcoming meeting within the ambit of the contact group was emphasised.
