Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's telephone conversation with Omani Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf Bin Alawi

On October 25, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yusuf Bin Alawi, at the initiative of the Omani side.

The Omani Minister spoke with Mr Lavrov about his initiatives to resolve conflicts in the Middle East.

The parties discussed the situation in and around Syria, with a focus on the need to counter terrorism and to start a political settlement as soon as possible based on the principles of the Geneva Communique of June 30, 2012.
