Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Tedros Adhanom on the sidelines of the 71^st UN General Assembly session in New York on September 21.

The ministers discussed major areas of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed the mutual desire to further promote it. They coordinated their positions on a number of key international issues now that Ethiopia has been elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017 and 2018.
