Comment by the Information and Press Department following a new round of terrorist attacks in Syria

1733-15-09-2015

The last several days have seen a sharp rise in terrorist activity by extremist groups in Syria. On September 14-15, three major car bomb attacks by terrorists took place in town of Al-Hasakah in the east of the country, carried out by ISIS suicide bombers. The total number of casualties exceeded 30, including women and children. Over 100 people were injured. In addition, residential areas in the city of Aleppo, controlled by the Syrian government, came under intense mortar fire. These crimes are especially terrible in that they were timed to coincide with the beginning of the new academic year in Syrian schools. On September 14, thousands of educational establishments in the country reopened their doors, despite the bloody nightmare that terrorists are trying to create for the Syrian people.

Once again, we resolutely condemn the bloody atrocities perpetrated by ISIS and other similar terrorist groups, as well as their inhuman ideology and practices. The challenge that the terrorists in Syria are issuing calls for an effective collective rebuff and coordinated efforts based on international law, designed to put an end to this extremely dangerous transborder threat.
