Press release on the outcome of the CSTO foreign ministers’ working meeting held on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting
On December 5, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a working meeting with the foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) member states ahead of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Bratislava.
The foreign ministers discussed the CSTO member states’ interaction within the OSCE and coordinated approaches to items on the agenda of the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council meeting. They noted the importance of joint efforts to promote an agenda that could unify all the OSCE member-states. The foreign ministers also called for further stepping up cooperation between the CSTO and the OSCE in areas of mutual interest. They praised the coordination at the level of permanent representatives to the OSCE.
A statement by the CSTO Ministers of Foreign Affairs on forming a unified and indivisible security space was approved at Russia’s initiative.
