On November 14 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Yuri Fedotov received Indian Ambassador to Moscow K. Raghunath.
During the talk, the sides discussed the current state of the Russian-Indian strategic partnership and prospects for its further development in light of the accords reached in the course of the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Russia on November 11-13.
A thorough exchange of views on the most pressing international and regional problems also took place. The sides spoke in favor of comprehensively strengthening the central role of the United Nations in safeguarding international peace and security and underscored the importance of the speediest postwar reconstruction of Iraq on the basis of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and international law.
