Государство Израиль
ON THE TERRORIST ACT IN TEL AVIV
Unofficial translation from Russian
PRESS RELEASE
A terrorist act took place on November 1 in the crowded Karmel marketplace in Tel Aviv. The explosive device set off by suicide bomber killed four Israelis. More than forty people were injured.
Expressing deeply-felt condolences to the families of the dead and wishing the speediest possible recovery for the wounded, Moscow strongly condemns this one more crime perpetrated against civilians. We are convinced that no political motives can serve as a justification for such evil deeds.
It has not escaped our attention that the act of terrorism in Tel Aviv was carried out at the time when an intensive search is on for ways to unblock the Palestinian-Israeli crisis. Now it is particularly important that both the parties in conflict should exercise maximum restraint, without responding to extremists' provocations, and do everything possible to restore the negotiating process.
We are calling on the PNA and Israeli to combine their efforts in the fight against the opponents of peaceful settlement, and resume effective security cooperation, which will ensure advancement towards the practical implementation of the Road Map, drawn up by the Quartet of international mediators.
