On May 24, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of the State of Eritrea Osman Saleh exchanged messages of greetings on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Eritrea.

In his message, Sergey Lavrov expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Eritrea would continue to grow stronger in the spirit of solidarity and mutual support in the best interests of the two nations as well as peace and security in the Horn of Africa and the continent as a whole.

The Russian Foreign Minister reaffirmed readiness to continue working with his Eritrean colleague to promote multifaceted partnership between Moscow and Asmara.

Osman Saleh expressed appreciation for the substantial progress achieved in the development of cooperation between the State of Eritrea and the Russian Federation, and noted the Eritrean authorities’ desire to strengthen the two nations’ ties in various areas based on the principles of solidarity, mutual respect and a balance of each other’s interests.
