State Reception on the occasion of Russia Day in Cameroon
On 12 June 2024, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cameroon organised a state reception to mark Russia Day. More than 170 people were present at the event, including H.E. Joseph BETI ASSOMO, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, H.E. Jean Ernest Massena NGALLE BIBEHE, Minister of Transport, H.E. Achille BASSILEKIN, Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, and H.E. Martin MBARGA NGUELE, Delegate General for National Security, H.E. Félix MBAYU, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations, senior officials from various ministerial departments, members of the diplomatic corps, Cameroonian businessmen, media representatives, Russian compatriots, priests from the Russian Orthodox Church and Cameroonian citizens graduates of Soviet and Russian universities.
In his speech, H.E. Georgy TODUA, Russian Ambassador to Yaoundé, said: "The millennia-long history of our state bears witness to the unique ability of the Russian people to overcome numerous challenges while discovering new horizons of development for Russia and the entire world.... Russia, like the countries representing the world majority, advocates a fairer world order based on the sovereign equality of states and taking into account the balance of power and interests. We are determined to promote a constructive international agenda. Our country intends to facilitate the emergence of Africa as a genuine and influential centre of global development".
