Press release on First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov’s meeting with Austrian Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Johannes Peterlik
On November 9, First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov held a meeting in Vienna with Secretary General for Foreign Affairs of Austria Johannes Peterlik.
The officials discussed the full range of bilateral relations in detail. Both sides noted the constructive nature of Russian-Austrian relations, emphasised the steady dynamics of high-level contacts in various fields, and gave a positive assessment to expanding cultural cooperation in the context of the Cross Year of Youth Exchanges, which is coming to a close, and the upcoming Russia-Austria 2020/21Year of Literature and Theatre. The parties also spoke about the activity of the Sochi Dialogue Civil Society Forum, including on the eve of the meeting of its co-chairs on November 14 in St Petersburg.
In addition, the officials exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda, including the peace settlement in Syria and developments in Ukraine, as well as on Russia-EU relations.
