Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic
On December 20, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, who had arrived in Russia for consultations with Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, co-chair of the Intergovernmental Russian-Serbian Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
The officials analysed bilateral relations, primarily the further development of strategic partnership between Russia and Serbia and the implementation of agreements reached at the top and high levels this year.
Sergey Lavrov and Ivica Dacic had an in-depth discussion on the settlement in Kosovo and pointed out the importance of coordinated efforts in this sphere based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and international law.
They also exchanged views on current international affairs and reaffirmed their shared intention to create an atmosphere of stability and neighbourliness in the Balkans.
