On December 9, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov met with the delegation of the Syrian opposition Kurdish National Council (KNC) which included Kamiran Hojo, a member of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, as well as Ibrahim Barro and Ismail Hassaf.

Participants in the meeting discussed in detail the developments in Syria with an emphasis on the northeastern areas of the country and the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding Between Turkey and the Russian Federation, adopted in Sochi on October 22, 2019. They also exchanged opinions on furthering the process of political settlement in Syria based on UN Security Council Resolution No 2254, including the outcome of the two meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva. They also noted the need to take into account the interests of all ethnic and religious groups in Syria.
