On April 24, as part of the Russian Embassy's activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a viewing of the film ‘Battle for Sevastopol’ was organised at the Russian International School ‘Galaxy’ in Douala.

H.E. Georgy TODUA, Russian Ambassador, in his remarks to the students and teachers underlined the importance of preserving the historical memory of the Soviet Union's peoples' contribution to the Great Victory, and encouraged students to deepen their knowledge of Russia during their studies in order to better understand the events currently unfolding on the world stage.

The film presentation was followed by an exchange of views, where participants discussed a number of issues related to the Great Patriotic War and its historical impact, and shared their opinions on the presented facts about the heroic struggle against Nazism.
