The sides discussed cooperation between Russia and the OICand agreed that it was developing dynamically and at a high pace. This year, Russian delegations will attend OIC standing committee meetings in Islamabad and Istanbul. Moscow will host consultations between the Russian Foreign Ministry and the OIC General Secretariat on international issues and the fight against terrorism and extremism. The OIC Deputy Secretary General will attend the VII International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC Countries in Kazan on June 15-16.

Whilediscussing the situation in the Muslim countries inthe Middle East and Africa, the sides focused onPalestinian-Israeli relations and the situation in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Mali and Somalia. They emphasisedthat regional and internal conflicts should be settled politically and that solutions must be based on respect for the rights of all religious and ethnic groups without exception.

The OIC Secretary General has been invited to come to Russia again so as to visit the Russian regions of his choice.
