Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Hussein, Moscow, November 25, 2020
I am glad to welcome you to Moscow. You have already visited our capital, including this historical building but today is your first time here as foreign minister.
During this visit, in addition to talks at the Foreign Ministry, you will meet with Yury Borisov, co-chair of the Russian section of the Russia-Iraq Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. You and your delegation will be able to discuss the full scope of our partnership.
Today we hope to discuss the main vectors of our bilateral links across all areas, as well as the international agenda, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, in the Persian Gulf, the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and other regional issues. I hope we will have useful and productive talks.
Once again, welcome.
