Press release on the exchange of greetings between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship Felipe Sola
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic Felipe Sola exchanged messages of greetings on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of diplomatic relations marked on October 22.
In his message, Sergey Lavrov emphasised that Russian-Argentinian relations were developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and do not depend on fleeting political interests. Today, the two countries confidently cooperate on the international stage, sharing similar views on ways of establishing a polycentric world order.
The Argentinian foreign minister noted that the two countries maintained a substantive political dialogue, and that their dynamic and modern agenda included such areas of focus as science, technology and innovation, trade and investment, energy, culture and education cooperation. According to Felipe Sola, the activities of ethnic Russians and their descendants living in Argentina, who make up the largest Russian community in Latin America, render a special character to bilateral relations.
