Mr Secretary of State, colleagues,

Welcome to Moscow. I remember very well our conversation in February 2020 in Geneva, and I will always remember my visit to San Marino in March 2019, the first official visit by a Russian Foreign Minister to your country.

You are on an official visit to the Russian Federation, which is also a first visit in the relations between our countries.

We are working closely on fighting the pandemic. We are delighted that the Sputnik V vaccine has enabled San Marino to become a leader in vaccinating its people and addressing safety concerns related to the coronavirus infection.

We have plans to develop bilateral relations in other spheres as well, including in trade and the economy, investment and culture.

We also encourage inter-parliamentary and people-to-people ties. Our agencies hold regular consultations on a wide range of issues, including the developments on the European continent, in the Euro-Atlantic region, and UN affairs. We would like these consultations to become regular as per the Memorandum of Understanding between the foreign ministries of Russia and San Marino, signed in San Marino in March 2019.

I am looking forward to a detailed discussion with you on all these matters. Once again, welcome. I am glad to see you.
