Mr. Lukashenko,

First of all, I would like to convey warm regards from President Vladimir Putin. He confirmed everything you have discussed with him, especially the agreements reached during your visit to Sochi. We fully share the same interest in strengthening our bilateral relations. There are different ways of putting it into words, but we have the same goal – to move towards the mutual benefit of our peoples, countries, and the Union State.

You have proposed a number of important initiatives for Belarusian society. As President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed, you have our full support and interest in implementing these ideas.

Today we will hold our regular annual joint meeting of the collegiums of the Russian and Belarusian Foreign Ministries, during which we will consider all the key issues of international policy in the Caucasus, the Middle East, Europe, and the Euro-Atlantic region, where threats are gaining momentum due to the fact that the Americans are undermining all agreements on any arms control.

At the meeting, the main task will be to ensure concrete agreements on the effective implementation of a programme of concerted foreign policy actions of the member states of the Union State for 2020-2021, which you approved with President Vladimir Putin. This is a roadmap for our everyday efforts with our Belarusian friends.

We sincerely appreciate your hospitality. I am pleased that you are receiving us ahead of this important event. Your assessments will be very helpful to us.
