Mr Minister,

We are happy to welcome you to Russia.

Nepal is our long-standing partner in South Asia. Our relations are traditionally built on the principles of mutual respect and friendship. We have always supported each other in situations that warranted support, such as natural disasters in your country. We always try to help. This attitude is also evident at the UN, where we support each other's initiatives.

We note with satisfaction that contact between our ministries has been developing very intensively of late, although the ministers have not met for full-format negotiations for quite some time, since 2005.

We are delighted that contact is increasing through other agencies, including those responsible for economic affairs. Today we look forward to discussing all aspects of our bilateral relations in detail, as well as cooperation in the regional and international arenas.
