Mr Nibigira,

Friends,

We are delighted to welcome you to Moscow. This is your first visit to our capital, Mr Foreign Minister. We hope it will be successful in the professional sense, and that you enjoy the Russian capital on a personal level.

We have a good opportunity today to consider the entire scope of our relations. They are developing fast in the trade, economic, cultural, and educational fields. There are good prospects, too. We hope that your visit, your meetings at the Foreign Ministry and at other Russian agencies will help us all outline these prospects more clearly.

We also have a very good chance to discuss in detail our cooperation in the international arena. We closely coordinate our approaches to the key issues discussed at the UN and other international organisations. It would be especially valuable for us to listen to your assessments of the progress in settling the conflicts on the African continent.

I am looking forward to having a fruitful and deep conversation.

Welcome.
