Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks at talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Nur-Sultan, October 9, 2019
We are grateful for the hospitality that we have felt from the first minutes of our stay in Nur-Sultan.
I would like to again congratulate you on your appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and express confidence that your experience will help ensure the continuity of your country's foreign policy as a whole and with regard to Kazakhstan-Russia relations, our strategic alliance. This was reaffirmed at a recent meeting between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the sidelines of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi.
We hope that during our meeting today we will look at all areas of our foreign policy cooperation and at all organisations where Russia and Kazakhstan are members, and outline specific steps to advance the international agenda towards resolving conflicts in various parts of the world, and strengthen strategic stability and global security.
Thank you for your hospitality.
