Question: The deadline set out in the Russian-Turkish agreements on Idlib last year is long gone. Will they be implemented at all?

Sergey Lavrov: President of Russia Vladimir Putin said at the recent news conference with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan that these agreements are still valid. The presidents of Russia and Turkey have coordinated some practical measures for their implementation.

Question: Are you not worried by the news on the establishment of a US-Turkish security zone in Syria?

Sergey Lavrov: It is a different part of Syria located in the north-east. President Erdogan said that Turkey’s goal is to protect its security interests there. President Putin reaffirmed that we believe that these interests are perfectly legitimate and would support an agreement that is based primarily on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.
