Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks at the talks with Jamaican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kamina Johnson-Smith, Moscow, July 16, 2019
We are very glad to welcome your delegation to Moscow. We met at the UN General Assembly session last year and it was not just a meeting as we signed a very important document, which is already being implemented, the visa waiver agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of Jamaica.
I am very glad that you will be able to see the Russian capital during your visit. I know you have a very busy schedule. You have already had meetings at the Ministry of Economic Development and RUSAL, and yesterday you went to see a ballet performance. Today we have some more work to do.
I am very glad to have the opportunity to discuss our bilateral relations in detail and, of course, regional and international problems, including our interaction with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
