About the meeting of Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, with heads of diplomatic missions of Latin American and Caribbean States, which are accredited in Moscow

On 12th March there was held a meeting between the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, and heads of diplomatic missions based in Latin American and Caribbean States (LACS), which are accredited in Moscow.

The meeting included an ambitious and substantial exchange of opinions about the most topical international issues and in the development of relations between Russia and Latin America. There was noted a sustainable trend to the growth of the role of Latin America in global affairs, as well as mutual interest in a deepened co-operation in multilateral and bilateral formats. With this angle, mutual interest in practical implementation of the dialogue and co-operation of Russia with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (SELAC), as well as other integration associations of Latin America, was emphasised.

At the request of ambassadors, Sergey Lavrov stated in detail the position of the Russian Federation with regard to the events in Ukraine.
