On September 28, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov met in New York with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen Abu Bakr Abdullah al-Qirbi on the sidelines of the 64th General Assembly session.

The ministers discussed a number of topical issues in Russian-Yemeni relations, stressing the need to step up economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

An exchange of views also took place on international and regional problems of mutual concern.
