Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks at talks with Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, Moscow, September 10, 2020
We are very happy to see you.
Thank you very much personally and the Uzbek delegation for your very useful and constructive contribution to the successful completion of the SCO Foreign Ministers Council Meeting.
We did a good job today and adopted a detailed political document that described the shared approaches of our countries to the issues of world politics and regional affairs. We have a good opportunity to discuss the further development of our strategic partnership, allied relations, and the key agreements reached between our presidents, including a brief but important meeting between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 23, 2020 in Moscow.
We will fulfil their instructions on the preparations for Mr Mirziyoyev’s full-scale state visit to the Russian Federation.
I believe that today we will be able to produce some ideas that will allow us to fill this historical visit with important content.
