Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Titov Holds Consultations with Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrzej Kremer
PRESS RELEASE
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Titov, held consultations on January 26 with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Kremer in Moscow.
A thorough exchange of views took place on a wide range of Russian-Polish relations, including a near-term schedule of bilateral contacts at various levels. Progress in the implementation of the agreements reached at the 2009 Moscow meeting of the Committee on Russian-Polish Cooperation Strategy, headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, was reviewed in detail.
In discussing the "historical dossier," the Russian side once again stressed the need for a balanced and objective attitude towards the joint historical past, a comprehensive study of which is the task of scholars and experts, but not practical politicians.
In a frank dialogue on foreign policy issues of mutual interest, special attention was paid to European security issues, Russia-EU and Russia-NATO relations, and interregional cooperation, particularly in the Baltic Sea region.
The sides also discussed the prospects for cooperation between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries, which generally evolves in a dynamic and meaningful fashion.
